Privacy NoticeVernon Kay has been flooded with supportive messages after he updated fans about BBC Radio 2’s latest endeavour. The 50 year old presenter recently graced The One Show with his presence to chat about the station’s fresh campaign, Let’s Move It, which is all about getting people up and active for their physical and mental wellbeing. Radio 2’s team is on a mission to get the nation moving more in their everyday routine, aiming to boost overall health. Vernon spilled the details of the campaign to hosts Roman Kemp and Anita Rani this past Friday evening (July 19). He explained to the pair: “We’re not asking people to run a 5k or a 10k, or even a marathon. It’s nothing to do with that. It’s basically getting the nation moving. Really simply, let’s move.”

Vernon offered some easy tips for incorporating exercise into daily life, suggesting: “So instead of walking down your drive with your wheelie bin, why not jog down your drive with your wheelie bin? Or jog back,” reports the Express. He added: “You get in the car and go on a three minute journey to get some milk, why not walk to the shop? Just do a little bit. Run up the stairs. That’s all it is.” Sharing the positive feedback the campaign has received so far, Vernon said: “I think the reaction that we’ve had has been huge and it’s something so simple that anyone can do.” “Just get out of breath. Just do a little bit of something every day that’ll encourage you because we know that when your physical health is better, your mental health gets a little bit better as well. And it’s good for you.”
