Privacy Notice Peter Andre has made his feelings crystal clear about a former Strictly Come Dancing star and called him “disgusting” amid the controversy swirling around the BBC dance competition. The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, 51, didn’t hold back as he weighed in on the scandal that’s rocked the BBC hit. Peter, a former contestant from the 2015 series of the show, faced some backlash after he made an emotional speech where he expressed his support for former dancer partner Janette Manrara and Giovanni Pernice. One follower brought up the Graziano Di Prima case, saying: “Graziano has actually admitted to assaulting Zara McDermott by means of kicking her.” Pete responded: “Yes, and I definitely am not in support of that. It’s disgusting. I’m talking about others whose names have just been dragged into this without any evidence.”

Giovanni is currently under scrutiny due to allegations made by Amanda Abbington. The actress, 50, was the first whistleblower and in an interview with Channel 4 News said she had been targeted with death threats following her accusations against Giovanni. Previously, Peter described Giovanni as “always a gentleman” during his speech about Janette, which sparked outrage among some social media users. One fan wrote: “I’m sorry but this…. this is exactly why women don’t come out and disclose what has happened to them. “Fear of not being believed, belittled and other men saying ‘they were always such a gentleman they’re a good guy’ yeah they were to you and that doesn’t stop them from not being different to someone else.”

Peter replied: “Jeanette is a woman and I’m totally sticking up for her as she was my partner and I saw how she worked. Confused by your comment .” Amanda spoke about her experience with Giovanni on Wednesday night, claiming that previous contestants had warned her about his behaviour. Speaking to news anchor Krishnan-Guru Murthy, Amanda claimed she was told “sorry” by past competitors after news broke she would be paired with the Italian dancer. She told her former co-contestant how as soon as the news broke, they texted and said: “I’m so sorry.” A surprised Krishnan-Guru exclaimed: “That’s a really odd thing to do,” before Amanda replied they told her it was going to be “tough”. She said she thought she would be okay as she is “quite a tough old bird”. “I thought I could [handle it] because I’ve been around the block a bit, you know?,” she confessed.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
