Privacy NoticeEastEnders’ Reiss Colwell’s next victim has been ‘unveiled’ – and it doesn’t look good for Sonia Fowler. The accountant, played by Johnny Freeman, has been grappling with financial stress in recent episodes. As viewers will remember, Reiss is married to Debbie, who is currently in a long-term coma after suffering a stroke. Initially, Reiss was using Debbie’s money to fund his and partner Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) IVF journey, but with the mounting care home fees for Debbie, Reiss resorted to desperate measures and started scamming Sharon (Letitia Dean). However, during Wednesday’s visit to the Square (July 24), things took a sinister turn when Reiss visited Debbie in the care home. He broke down, talking about his spiralling debt and how he wished Debbie could communicate with him instead of living a ‘pitiful, pointless half-life’, reports the Daily Star.

Reiss then told Debbie that if she passed away, he could start afresh. He stood up, moved a pillow from behind Debbie’s head, gave her a forehead kiss, and prepared to smother her. In Thursday’s episode (July 25), it was confirmed that Debbie had passed away – leaving Reiss emotionally overwhelmed but able to hide his guilt. Accompanied by Sonia, Reiss went to the care home, where a nurse informed them that they believe Debbie died due to complications from her recent pneumonia.

EastEnders enthusiasts are on the edge of their seats, speculating that Debbie might not be the only one in danger. They’re buzzing with theories that Sonia could be next in line for Reiss’s wrath. On social media, a fan speculated: “Could Sonia be the next Reiss’s victim? I reckon he’ll kill her too.” Another chimed in with a prediction: “Reiss kills Sonia on the 40th anniversary, I’m calling it.” Joining the conversation, another viewer expressed: “I wouldn’t be surprised.”
