Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing’s Graziano Di Prima is reportedly under medical supervision after being axed from the show. His family are said to be ‘deeply concerned’ about his health and wellbeing and are keeping a close eye on him, checking in every hour. The professional dancer was axed by the BBC earlier this month amid allegations of gross misconduct towards his celeb partner Zara McDermott. The decision came swiftly after the BBC reviewed ‘distressing’ rehearsal footage of the pair. It is now reported that Graziano is experiencing ‘extreme stress’, with his family very concerned. Speaking to the Mirror, his relatives said: “Graziano is currently under medical supervision, with the stress of the situation causing significant concern for his family, who are monitoring him hourly. The unrelenting feeding frenzy over these accusations and his mental state leaves him at this time unable to defend himself.”

OK! have contacted Graziano’s representative for comment. Since his show axe, the dancer, 30, has returned to Italy with his wife Giada, where is he working on a remote farm – a stark contrast to his glittering role on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Graziano was all set for the 20th series but was axed after an internal investigation into misconduct. He later confessed to kicking Zara once during rehearsals. His representative, Mark Borkowski said: “There is never a time when kicking, or any sense of that is right. And he knows that. He knows he’s made a mistake. He apologised at the time.” A statement from Zara’s reps was then issued in response to the assertion that the kick was a one time incident. They said: “It’s a matter of public record that the BBC deemed the conduct to be so severe that they removed him from the show immediately.”

When confirming his departure from the show, Graziano expressed his regret over the circumstances that led to his exit from Strictly. He stated: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly.” “My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. Respecting the BBC HR process, I understand it’s best for the show that I step away.” Following Graziano’s statement, former Love Island star Zara disclosed her own troubling experiences during her time on Strictly Come Dancing. She confessed: “I was scared about public backlash, I was scared about my future, I was scared of victim shaming,” but also acknowledged her resilience: “I am a resilient person and I was fully prepared to put in whatever it took.”.

Zara reflected positively on some aspects of her journey: “And so much of my Strictly experience was everything I could have dreamt of. The entire production team and everyone behind the scenes as well as my fellow contestants were so amazing to work with.” However, she revealed a darker side to her training: “However, my experience inside the training room was very different. Reports have been made about my treatment on the show and there were witnesses to some events, as well as videos of particular incidents which are incredibly distressing to watch.” On July 16, the BBC said it would introduce measures to “strengthen welfare and support” on the show, including a chaperone who will be present “at all times” during training room rehearsals.Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
