Privacy Notice Sammy Root is heading back to our screens as he has reportedly joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex. The former Love Island winner, 23, was spotted filming for the hit ITV show alongside co-stars Elma Pazar, Livvy Jay and Becks Bloomberg as he joined them for dinner. For the scene, Sammy, who hails from Kent, was introduced to the single ladies by Roman Hackett and was later seen flirting away during their meal at Aura Bar & Grill in Loughton. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Elma could be seen holding Sammy’s hand at one stage as they filmed series 34 of the reality show.

OK! has contacted ITV and Sammy’s representatives for comment. His appearance on the show comes following his split from Jess Harding, which occurred just two months after the couple won Love Island in 2023. Jess reportedly broke up with Sammy over the phone during a getaway to Ibiza with her pals. Earlier this year, Sammy spoke exclusively to OK! about his love life and how things were between the former Love Island winners. He said: “I’m going to be honest, we don’t speak to each other out of respect. I think she’s in a relationship now, and I wouldn’t want to bother her.”

Jess went public with her new relationship in April this year after sharing a loved-up snap on social media. Sammy added: “We haven’t really got anything to talk about to be honest. But if I did see her, I’d always say hello. I’m sure she’d say hello back. I wish her the best. “But yeah, I think we’re just sort of doing our own thing now.” Previously, Sammy was spotted cosying up to Geordie Shore beauty Chloe Ferry during a Halloween night out and was also linked to Samantha Kenny in June after they were seen getting cosy at the White Fox bash in London.

The pair reportedly chatted continuously and were leaning into each other, before the former islander wrapped his arm around Sam, 26, who appeared on Love Island this summer. She was famously dumped from the villa after TOWIE star, Joey Essex, 33, recoupled with his ex Grace Jackson. Speaking about his relationship status earlier this year, Sammy also told us: “Right now I’m single. Like I said before, I’ve been put in a position that people dream of so to waste this opportunity sort of chasing girls, I think that’d be a big mistake. “So this year I promised myself that I’m focusing on bettering myself.
