Privacy NoticeEmotions were running high during the Love Island final on Monday night (29 July) before Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan were crowned the winners of the 2024 summer series. The couple scooped up the £50,000 cash prize, but just hours before, Mimii was left in floods of tears as the final four couples made their declarations of love. In Love Island tradition, their final night in the villa saw the four remaining couples, Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, Matilda Draper and Sean Stone, Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, Jess Spencer and Ayo Odukoya, dress to impress as they made heartwarming speeches about their significant other half.

First up to share their declaration of love was Jess and Ayo, with the brunette beauty gushing: “I don’t know why I’m getting emotional” before going on to say, ” We have created such a special bond and a deeper connection between us that I never thought was possible”. The Welsh lovebirds Nicole and Ciaran, who went official with their relationship in the villa, spoke next as Nicole reflected back on the day they met. “It all started the day you walked through that door with the biggest, cheekiest smile on your face. As soon as I came up to you the words that left your mouth was ‘alright love, I’m Ciaran, nice to meet you’ and I replied ‘are you welsh? I instantly felt the butterflies”, she sweetly said.

I‌n an intimate moment Mimii opened up to Josh as she said: “You’re attentive, kind, gentle and loving. Thank you for showing me the qualities that I thought were unrealistic in this day and age.” They shared a touching embrace before Josh told Mimii: “You mentioned to me that no one has ever written you a poem before and I promised you I will so I hope you like it.” Mimii was overcome with emotion following the thoughtful gesture from Josh and broke down in tears. Sean also spoke of his fondness for Matilda as he confessed “I’m so nervous” before revealing “one last thing” for the 24 year old. During the final on Monday night, Jess and Ayo were the first to be announced as the runners-up in fourth place. They were followed by Matilda and Sean who finished the series in third place.
