The pair married in 2008 and have three children, and seem one of the happiest couples in showbiz. But when pressed for their secret of their long and successful marriage recently, Matt’s answer caused him to visibly chocking up when he answered, according to the TV Times. “I really love her,” stated the 41-year-old star, before catching his emotions and adding. “Oh sorry, I didn’t expect that! We really like each other, I think that’s the secret,” he also said.

Emma, while a little more pragmatic on the issue, said: “Is there a secret? Or do you just bumble along and work hard it at?” The TV presenter was clearly moved by her husband’s words. “The feeling’s mutual,” she replied to his declaration of love. “And that’s no secret!” The new show will see the couple guide 15 boys and 15 girls through a dating process with a twist. They will have their dates in speical pods where the contestants can’t see each other, only hear each other’s voice, and they won’t know what their date looks like in the flesh until they make their choice. The show is based on the hit US version, and Matt and Emma admit they were hooked after they tucked into that. “We watched one episode of the US version of the show then then binge the whole series over a few days!” Matt said.

“We all love watching people fall in love,” added Emma. “So when Netflix approached us about hosting the UK version we were like ‘Yes please, we want this!'”. And in taking contestants through the the process in the 11-part series, the couple have become big fans of the dating concept. “On the first day. I ‘matched all our daters based on their photos – and none of them got together!” laughed Matt. “On a dating app, two people might look good together, but are they compatible? Spending time getting to know someone, like they do on our shows really makes you find out.” And Emma admits that presenting he show gave her great satisfaction. “I love matchmaking!
