Privacy NoticeKathie Lee Gifford, the former Today host, ended up in hospital with a fractured pelvis after an unfortunate fall. She was in the process of recovering from hip replacement surgery when she tripped while hurrying to answer the door for a friend. This led to her spending over a week in hospital undergoing physical therapy. Kathie had been signing books in Nashville and had “moved 300 books” by herself, which left her body feeling “weakened”. Despite this, she admitted that “it’s my own fault”. “It didn’t take much, because I was weak in that spot. And the next thing you know, I am back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, the front and the back. That’s more painful than anything I went through with the hip. The pelvis is unbelievably painful. But anyway, here I am,” she told People.

The Then Came You actress confessed that her recent hip surgery and recovery turned out to be “one of the most painful situations of [her] entire life. It’s been really hard.” Despite the ordeal, Kathie remains unapologetic about her active life which led to her needing surgery. She reflected, “[I ask myself] would I change that? No, I was doing what God put me on this earth to do. Every year of it, I was doing what He called me to do.” Despite the struggles, the star has had a lot to celebrate, as she recently released her new book, a historical non fiction, titled Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior.
