Privacy NoticeThe future of chicken is upon us, as leading fast food brand KFC have just announced their plan to start 3D printing ‘chicken’ nuggets as early as next year. This news follows the fact that only a few weeks ago the world’s first 3D printed steak was made, and now KFC will be launching their nuggets out of Russia. The Kentucky-founded company have announced their partnership with a Russian biotech research firm to make the laboratory-produced meat.

This is owing to a global pressure to create sustainable foods as countries such as the UK have declared a climate emergency, and more and more people are cutting meat out of their diets. The creations will include the classic KFC formula of 11 herbs and spices and will be made very similar to the “real thing,” revealed the restaurant chain.

They have said it will “be as close as possible in both taste and appearance to the original KFC product, while being more environmentally friendly to produce than ordinary meat.” Whether you would eat it as a non meat-eater is very much up to you, although the nuggets would contain “almost” no animal products and even better than that the firm have promised that “the production process does not cause any harm to animals”.
