Privacy Notice If you’re looking for something to put in your glass next week, then may we suggest popping the cork on a bottle of Aldi’s Prosecco Rosé. On Monday 2 November Aldi will officially become the first UK supermarket to have Prosecco Rosé on their virtual shelves (the product will be first launching online before you can buy at the tills). A lot of work has been put in by the Aldi team so their customers could be the very first people to taste pink bubbles that have been purchased on UK soil. They even had to get the Italian government to approve the production!

As getting to Italy isn’t so easy right now, it’s the perfect time for the blush bubbles to enter into our lives. The drink is described as “a soft pink colour with elegant notes of summer fruits on the nose. On the palate there is a delightful blend of strawberry and raspberry red berry fruits with a hint of white peach, finishing with a gentle citrus twist.” We’ve got a feeling Prosecco mega-fan Amy Childs will enjoy a glass of this pink stuff.

If you’ve got expensive taste, but you’re on a tighter budget then you’ll also be pleased to know that the tipple is only £6.49 (75cl). Or if you’re not ready to commit to a bigger bottle without a taste test then a Prosecco Rosé DOC Mini (250ml) is available for £2.29. Wine expert Sam Caporn explains why it’s so exciting (I mean we’re already pretty stoked): “Shoppers might have already enjoyed Italian rosé (or rosato) sparkling wine, but it won’t actually have been Prosecco, because pink Prosecco hasn’t previously been permitted. “Prosecco (like Champagne) is governed by strict regulations and Prosecco DOC has to come from grapes grown exclusively from nine provinces in the north east of Italy, and there are many rules in place regarding how it can be produced. Like standard Prosecco, the new rosé variety must be made primarily from Glera grapes but with the addition of Pinot Noir.”
