Privacy NoticeEastEnders fans are predicting a surprising new romance between two characters who they reckon are more like siblings. In recent episodes, Callum Highway (played by Tony Clay) has been left heartbroken after his husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) was sent to prison. As viewers will remember, Ben committed credit card fraud while in America last year and was subsequently sent back to serve time. Meanwhile, Callum is dealing with his heartbreak back in Walford. To make matters worse, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) recently arranged for Callum, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), and Lexi to fly to America to visit Ben, but Callum couldn’t get the time off work.

This week on the soap, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) tried to lift Callum’s spirits by inviting him out for a drink. Despite initially resisting, Callum eventually agreed to go out with Johnny after some encouragement from Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton). However, their night out was cut short when Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) made a snide comment about Callum moving on from Ben so quickly. This left Callum feeling uncomfortable and he decided to call it a night, reports the Daily Star.

Now, fans are speculating that there could be a romantic connection brewing between Johnny and Callum. However, not everyone is on board with this potential pairing, with some viewers suggesting their dynamic is more like that of siblings. On X, fans have been vocal about the dynamic between Johnny and Callum, with one viewer tweeting about their brotherly bond due to Mick Carter’s (played by Danny Dyer) paternal role in Callum’s life.

“It’s especially not classy considering callum is: 1) clearly being written as not interested, 2) essentially grieving his marriage and 3) kind of his brother? ” tweeted an upset fan. Another chimed in: “Callum’s more like Johnny’s brother considering how he considered mick a dad.” “Please no! ” exclaimed another, using the hashtag #brothers to emphasise their point. Meanwhile, another fan expressed discomfort: “Wouldn’t Johnny and Callum be weird given they knew each other since they were kids and grew up as brothers.” EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayerStory SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
