Privacy NoticeIceland like to do things a little differently, especially at Christmas. In 2018 they even had a controversial advertisement banned from TV. Now, they’ve been cooking up something rather unusual in the kitchen. Most of us enjoy a good yorkshire pudding, we wouldn’t say no to some pigs in blanket and can certainly see the allure of a hearty bowl of mac ‘n’ cheese. Well, Iceland have decided to combine all three in one ready meal – we can’t decide whether it’s culinary genius, or the worst idea ever. The shop describe it as a “fluffy Yorkshire pudding filled with macaroni pasta in a vintage Cheddar cheese sauce, topped with pork sausage wrapped in smoked streaky bacon, and sprinkled with breadcrumbs and Red Leicester cheese for that extra special touch.” If you fancy giving it a go, then it’s available to pick up in store or online now at £3.00, or two for £5.00.

Apparently 24% of us would happily eat Christmas Dinner every day if we could. But this brings many logistical problems – spending too much time with a potato peeler in your hands for starters. This inspired Heinz to bring out a Limited Edition Christmas Dinner Big Soup for £1.50. A bowl includes turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing, roasties and all the trimmings.

Problem is it’s so popular it’s already sold out everywhere, but you can register your interest on their website. Some tins are even up for sale for £60 on eBay, but surely no soup is worth that much money! Pizza Hut have also joined in on the festive action and released their limited edition Christmas menu.

Their star attraction is a Hog Roast Pizza (£17.99 for a Medium Classic), with pulled pork, festive sage and onion stuffing and red onion toppings. It also comes with an optional apple sauce drizzle if you’re feeling extra adventurous. It’s also joined by Pulled Pork Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese (£6.69) and Cookies & Cream Cookie Dough dessert (£4.99). We’re not entirely sure of the Christmas link there, but they sound delicious nonetheless.
