Privacy NoticeGood Morning Britain viewers have expressed their concern for the show’s beloved presenter Kate Garraway after she has been absent from the ITV programme. The morning programme was hosted by Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins today Friday (August 2), following a week mostly helmed by Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls. Regular GMB host Kate hasn’t appeared since last month due to her father’s health issues. Worried fans have voiced their feelings on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, with one writing: “Anyone else seriously missing Kate Garraway on #GMB? I hope everything’s okay with her family…” Another chimed in: “She’s coming back soon isn’t she? The presenters today are making me cringe for some reason.” Kate, 57, took to Instagram yesterday to share an update on her father’s health emergency, which led to her taking time off from the show.

In her heartfelt post, she said: “Hi all – sorry I disappeared from here when my Dad collapsed and rushed to hospital 2 weeks ago while having a holiday with my Mum at my brother’s. She also extended her gratitude to the NHS staff, saying: “Huge thanks to the incredible NHS staff for their endless kindness and the heart they put into the care of all their patients which has meant so much to my mum and all our family.” Kate also thanked her ITV and Smooth Radio colleagues, especially Ranvir Singh, Charlotte Hawkins, Tina Hobley, and Myleene Klass for their flexibility as she said: “Huge thanks too to my incredible friends @itv and @smoothradio particularly @ranvirtv, @charlottehawkins1, @tinahobleyofficial, @myleeneklass for yet again changing their plans to cover for me so I could put my family first.”

The TV favourite shared her plans for returning to the screen, providing some comfort to concerned fans: “Luckily I also had some weeks leave booked so I have been able to support my Mum & Brother & be with my Dad while also giving Darcey & Billy some summer fun on their school holidays which of course they really need. Am hoping to be back on @gmb and @smoothradio on Monday so can update more then but for now sending love to you all.” Despite her absence from GMB and the worrying time for her family, Kate celebrated a significant achievement in her career this month, reaching an impressive 2.9 million weekly listeners on her Smooth Radio show, prompting a wave of congratulations from her supporters online: “Congrats on your RAJAR figures @kategarraway.
