She seemed to have disappeared without a trace, but when blood was discovered in her flat, her disappearance escalated into a murder investigation, with innocent Roy Cropper being wrongfully accused of her murder by DS Lisa Swain. However, in a twist of events in May, it was revealed that Joel Deering was the culprit behind her disappearance. A shocking flashback scene unveiled the solicitor as Lauren’s secret ‘boyfriend’ who had savagely assaulted her with a chair leg. It wasn’t until this month that Lauren was confirmed to be alive after the horrific attack, as she made a surprise appearance at ailing Roy’s hospital bedside following his heart attack. Her unexpected return didn’t go unnoticed, leading to a tense showdown with Joel, which unveiled the truth about their past.

After the bombshell dropped that she’s expecting, Lauren fled only to be found by Joel’s fiancee, Dee-Dee Bailey, and Bethany Platt. The girls managed to convince her to seek care at a hospital, assuring her safety that is, until Joel popped up with directives for dealing with the fuzz. Lauren’s now lying low near Weatherfield, hiding out in Joel’s pad as they plot her departure to Ireland. Meanwhile, Cait isn’t letting any filming fatigue dampen her vacay vibe. However, on Friday night’s episode, 2 August, saw Lauren fearing she’s losing her baby. “If ur character makes it to Ireland, how will u explain the suntan???!” laughed one fan. think ur character’s brilliant btw, u play her so well!!!!!!” Despite the ‘concern’ from fans, Cait’s Corrie co-stars were quick to compliment her pics. Liam McCheyne (Dylan Wilson) dished: “Gorgeous,” while.
