Speaking to Somerset Life, Adam admitted that he was a little cynical at first, but was quickly taken by surprise during the session. “Now I’m a bit of a cynic for this stuff, but do you know what? “I don’t know what the practitioner did but at the end she told me to go back to the hotel, drink lots of water and rest. I know I’m an emotional chap and I do wear my heart on my sleeve but when I lay down on the bed I cried and cried.” Adam’s heartfelt confession comes after he shed a light on the emotional turmoil that he and his wife Charlie have been through after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer diagnosis. It was revealed that Charlie had fallen ill over the Christmas period in 2020 though the pair initially believed that she’d caught something.

However, Charlie sought medical help in early 2021 and by February 2021 tests discovered that she had a four-and-a-half centimetre tumour on her pancreas. Fortunately the couple were able to secure one of the country’s top specialists and arranged for Charlie to undergo surgery. Two years on, Charlie has resumed work on a part-time basis and is now living from one six-monthly scan to the next. During an interview with the Mirror, Adam recalled how he and Charlie decided to get married following 28 years together shortly after her diagnosis and that their big day was a tearful and bittersweet celebration as Charlie’s surgery loomed closer.

“After 28 years together you do get a bit complacent, but getting married was suddenly really important – we didn’t know how long we had left, and I wanted Adam to know I was committed to him,” Charlie told the Mirror. Adam added: “We cried a lot. Those vows cemented my emotions and let me say from the heart how I feel about Charlie. The registrar wasn’t aware of our situation and said she’d never had such an emotional couple. For us, it was a way of saying goodbye to everyone.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
