Privacy NoticeAmy Dowden has jetted off on holiday with her husband Ben Jones – who she wed in 2022 – and is being sure to keep her fans updated. Posting to her 663,000 Instagram followers, the 33-year-old revealed that she is heading on an easyJet package holiday, to get some vitamin D. While she didn’t share exactly where she is heading, she did post for a picture in front of a stunning sunset, in a warm looking country. After settling into her hotel, the Strictly Come Dancing pro posted an update from beside the pool. On her story, she took a picture of factor 50 sun cream and admitted: “Always now! How caner has changed me.” Amy , who was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2023, also posted a selection images to her Instagram grid which show her posing in a leopard print kaftan, kissing in the pool with her husband and smiling with a bottle of champagne. She wrote: “1. It’s vacay mode 2. Uncondition 3. Why not” which suggested a caption for each of the images.

The holiday updates come after Amy shared a health updates with her fans. Posting a photograph of herself in hospital, taken on the day she underwent surgery last year. She captioned the shot: “Can’t believe it’s a year since surgery! Happy 1st birthday to my new cancer-free boobie!!!”. She shared a video containing multiple photos and clips from the past 12 months to show her journey. She wrote: “These past few weeks and especially days I’ve constantly been thinking this time last year I was having this test, or this appointment. A year ago today it was confirmed what we thought it was but it became reality and my life changed forever when the Dr said we are sorry Amy it’s cancer.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year and all what my body has been through and achieved.” She also remembered breaking the distressing news to her loved ones, adding “A year ago Ben, myself and my twin sister cried together and had to pull ourselves together as we had to break the news to my parents and just knowing the heart ache and worry it was going to cause. “I used to lay awake for hours with my mind going to all sorts of places, would I make it to Christmas, would I dance again, how’s Ben going to cope, I don’t want to lose my hair , you name it. I wish I knew then how I would be a year on.

In her closing statement, she said: “To those struggling right now I’m sending you love and strength. To those family and friends who stuck by me I’m forever grateful to you! I know I’m lucky and blessed for another shot at life, here’s to a healthier, better, happier and dancing year ahead! …. Now a gentle reminder have you checked your chest this month? Early detection can save lives.” Just a few weeks ago, after enduring multiple rounds of chemotherapy, Amy shared the fantastic news that doctors have confirmed there is no evidence of cancer in her body.
