The 31 year old, who previously appeared on Ex on the Beach and is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson, has been in a relationship with rugby league player Matthew Sarsfield for eight years. The couple share two sons, Noah, three, and one year old Jude, and it’s said that Charlotte is holding back her tears to look after them. Friends have claimed that the Celebs Go Dating star was taken aback when she discovered Matthew had sent an explicit image to someone he knew. They also mentioned that it’s uncertain whether their relationship will survive this alleged scandal. According to The Mirror, Emily Louise Hodgkinson, 34, expressed her shock when former Swinton Lions player Matthew, 32, sent her an intimate picture after she posted about going for a run last month. The pair originally met via Emily’s ex, who played rugby with Matthew, and they subsequently followed each other on Instagram. Emily said: “I feel so sorry for Charlotte. How could he do that to her? She also mentioned that she took a screenshot of the image and added that a “worried” Matthew responded, asking what she planned to do with the photograph. A source close to Charlotte said: “Naturally, friends are angry that Charlotte has been publicly humiliated by Matt’s actions. Such behaviour affects the whole family, particularly their two young sons.” According to a close friend of hers, Charlotte is still processing the news, saying: “She’s been completely blindsided by these revelations. To say she is hurt is an understatement, and it’s unclear where the relationship lies at the moment.”

They added that Charlotte is “trying to get her head around his actions” and this news “has been a very hard pill to swallow.” Charlotte’s relationship with Matthew appeared to be going strong after he proposed to her in 2020. The proposal took place in the seaside town of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, where Matthew got down on one knee beside a statue of Charlotte’s late father, Les Dawson. Charlotte, who lost her beloved dad at the tender age of eight months in 1993, has often spoken fondly of him and even has a tattoo of the Blankety Blank star on the back of her neck. In recent months, Charlotte had been open about her weight loss journey and had seemed happy, telling her friends and family that she was “loving life” after shedding over a stone and enjoying a family holiday to the Maldives.
