Privacy NoticeSuits was the TV series that catapulted Meghan Markle to fame, but how did her character Rachel Zane leave the show? Meghan’s role as lawyer and former paralegal Rachel Zane was a pivotal part of the USA Network and Netflix’s popular series Suits. So when news broke that she would be exiting the show as she prepared for her real-life move to the Royal Family, fans were eager to see if Rachel would have her happily ever after too. Rachel and Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams), like many on-screen couples, had a complex love story.

So much so, that at the close of season four, following her father’s blessing, Mike popped the question to Rachel, who ecstatically said yes. Fast forward to season seven and Rachel and Mike tie the knot. But this signalled the start of their departure from Pearson Hardman as they chose to quit their jobs and start anew, reports the Mirror. Post-wedding, the newlyweds moved to Seattle with ambitions to set up their own law firm. While Adams made a comeback for the final season of Suits, Markle did not, having chosen to abandon her acting career to become a senior member of the Royal family. She was in a relationship with Prince Harry while filming Suits, but as their romance intensified, Markle decided to exit the legal drama. Markle and Prince Harry got hitched a year later and are now proud parents to two children. Reflecting on her decision to leave the show during an interview with the BBC, Markle mused: “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change.” “It’s a new chapter, right? I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
