Privacy Notice Sam Faiers has shown her support for her stepdad Dave in an emotional update in which she revealed that he has been in rehab after experiencing a “couple of difficult episodes due to your alcoholism”. On Monday, 5 August, the former The Only Way Is Essex star shared a moving post on Instagram where she opened up about Dave’s journey and expressed the pride she had for her stepdad, who is also known as Chatty, after recently visiting him. Alongside a series of snaps of herself and her stepdad, Sam, 33, wrote: “As a family, we are so proud of you, Dad. Recently, you have faced a couple of difficult episodes due to your alcoholism.

“This is your first time in rehab, and we want you to know how much we love you and that we are here to support you through this journey. On my visit Dad wanted a curry & a head shave.” Finishing off the post, the TV personality explained how she and Dave hoped to raise awareness of alcoholism in a bid to help others who may experience similar in the future. “Dad and I made a short video because he said he wants to share his journey and hopefully help others who are going through the same thing one day @chatty.dave x,” she added. In response to the touching post, Sam’s followers flocked to the comments section to share messages of support for Dave, while some shared their own experiences.

“Well done Dave and well done Sam for supporting your lovely dad xx you can do it @chatty.dave xx,” wrote one. “Takes a brave person to take that step well done you xx,” another added. You have an amazing family and you got this very much love to you all.” The emotional update comes after Sam gave fans a peek inside her stunning family holiday to Mallorca with her partner Paul Knightley and their three children, Paul Junior, eight, Rosie, six, and Edward, one.
