Privacy NoticeShe’s already won Celebrity Big Brother – but Charlotte Crosby found Celebrity MasterChef a real challenge, Although she has previously authored a recipe book, Charlotte admits the pressure of Celebrity MasterChef drove her to tears at one point. The 34-year-old lost her confidence when faced with competitors Edith Bowman, This Morning ’s Craig Doyle, Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins and BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Snoochie Shy. Charlotte was happy when the other celebs claimed to be clueless in the kitchen. However, soon she realised they were “a bunch of liars”! And things weren’t helped when she turned up hungover after enjoying a child-free date night with fiancé Jake Ankers.

In our exclusive chat, Charlotte reveals how 20-month-old Alba has changed her life, her plans to have three children and her dreams of a sunshine wedding in 2026. Hi, Charlotte. Why did you go on Celebrity MasterChef? I thought it would be a fun show to do. I like cooking. I thought I was really good. But yeah, you learn a lot when you’re there. Is it tougher cooking in the MasterChef kitchen and is there more pressure? There are just so many lights! It’s such a bright environment to film in and you feel completely under the spotlight. You can’t hide or escape from anything. Everyone sees everything you do, it’s nerve-wracking. What were the celebrity contestants in your heat like? Everyone was really nice, but I will admit, they all played down how good they were. Everyone was like, “Oh no, I’m not really that good” or “I can’t really cook”. So I was actually sitting there like, “I’ve won this, I’ve got this.” But they were all just lying! I can’t believe I actually fell for their lies. They were like Michelin-starred chefs. What’s your cooking style like? I don’t really have a cooking style and I’m not a chef. I literally just rustle up meals for me, my fiancé and my little girl. It’s never anything really special. It’s just like really random things that I’ve learnt along the years off me mam. Like I know I would do a nice chilli. But again, it’s not really from scratch. I use Heinz baked beans in my chilli and a lovely sachet of chilli powder but there’s none of that in MasterChef!

Were John Torode and Gregg Wallace nice? Which one is the one in glasses? Gregg is the one with glasses… Oh, he’s scary [she laughs]. But John is really lovely. Very warm. I love John. He was so lovely. Like a big cuddly teddy. What did you wear on Celebrity MasterChef? You have to have your hair tied back, which I didn’t mind to be honest, I’m not too fussy about that. And I still had a bit of make-up on apart from one day when I woke up extra late. I was in London. My fiancé came down and one night we had a little date and a couple of drinks. So the following morning I was a little bit hungover. I can’t lie. So I was dreading going into the kitchen. The sweat was dripping off my brow. I definitely didn’t look like a glamorous chef that day. Are you glad you had your date night though? Yes! My little girl was with her grandparents back at home, so we had to take the opportunity! They come few and far between now.

What’s it like going back to work now you have a baby? I love work, it’s just the realisation that actually having a baby is a full-time job in itself. It’s the hardest job I’ve ever done. It’s 24/7. There is just no switch off. You’re thinking about everything to keep this tiny human alive and then you have work as well. You’ve just got to make it work and power through. How do you cope with stress when you’re a mum and you’re on a tough show like Celebrity MasterChef? If I’m having a bad time I like to really express it. There’s no holding it back. If I’m not enjoying something you are going to know about it. You are going to know so hard, because I just cannot keep it in. And I think that’s how I cope! But did you have fun on Celebrity MasterChef too? I’m not going to lie, I did have a bit of a cry at one point. I tried so hard at this one thing but it didn’t go as I planned. I thought it had gone as I planned but I should have tasted it. I am a little bit of a wuss. I cry from time to time. How are your marriage plans coming on? It’s going to be abroad at the end of 2026. We’re going to see the venue soon. I just want a little bit longer to save.

And how are you enjoying being a mum? It’s the best, best, best, best, best thing ever. I can’t actually believe that I didn’t do this sooner. It’s so fulfilling. It’s just great. Like I literally pinch myself every day. I’m like, This can’t actually be my life. This can’t actually be my little girl. She’s just perfect. I would lovethree children. Would you like more girls or would you like boys too? I’ve got to have a boy at some point because it’s only fair on Jake, he would really love a little boy. I do love the girls but I know girls are hard work when they get older. When will you have another baby? Well, you can’t really decide can you? But I would like to have another one before I am married. But if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. You can’t just click your fingers. Would you go back to Geordie Shore or is it in the past? I am 100% not going back this time. But I am doing a show called Aussie Shore where I’m the boss but it doesn’t involve them lot! When you do get married will it be a big wedding or quite small and intimate? I don’t want to have lots of people there. I’ve learnt through all of the parties through my pregnancy that the worst thing ever is when you have to be the host so you have to try and talk to everyone… awful. I want only my closest and nearest. Celebrity MasterChef airs Tuesday 13th August at 8pm on BBC One.
