Privacy NoticeEastEnders dropped a shock proposal during Tuesday’s episode, as one fan favourite couple are set to tie the knot. It’s been a dramatic week for the Panesar’s with the arrival of Suki’s ‘first love’ Ayesha Siddhu (Laila Rouass) thanks to her ex-husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry). Ayesha and Suki had a lot of catching up to do, with Ayesha even revealing that she was now out as a proud Sikh gay woman, running an organisation for the LGBTQIA* community. Of course, this didn’t sit well with Eve Unwin, as Stacey Slater said she was the ‘most insecure’ she’d ever seen her. Nish didn’t help by planting a seed of doubt in Eve’s mind, or did he?

As he continued to plant seeds of doubts, even comparing himself and Eve while Suki was having an affair with her while still with Nish, Eve had other ideas. It seemed like she was in the right place at the right time, as she heard bought Reiss Colwell’s late wife Debbie’s wedding ring, buying it from him for Suki. At the end of the episode, with the whole family present, plus Ayesha, who was having a drink with Suki, Eve got down on one knee, romantically asking Suki to marry her in Punjabi.

In true EastEnders style, fans were left on a cliffhanger, and will have to wait until the next episode for Suki’s response. Fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their shock, and predict what they think will happen. “I know I was convinced Suki would say no and I still kinda am but she doesn’t look as horrified or scared as I thought… she thinks Eve is adorable,” wrote one. Another penned: “Oh my goodness bless Eve learning Punjabi…She’s The One playing in the background (!)…Suki’s little “Eeeeve!”…Stacey’s smile…what a doof-doo!” “The smile on Suki’s face, the effort put into it by Eve, they really are the greatest couple. How are we supposed to wait until 6am tomorrow,” said another excited fan. The onscreen couple have had a rocky relationship to say the least, from their affair, to Eve disappearing after Ravi told her to ‘never return’ after ‘bottled out’ of murdering her on Nish’s demands.
