Privacy Notice Celebs Go Dating star Helen Flanagan has opened up about her split from Scott Sinclair and revealed why they called time on their relationship. Helen and footballer Scott, who share children Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and three-year-old Charlie together, went their separate ways in 2022 after 13 years together. And now, two years, on the former Coronation Street actress has shone a light on the real reason behind their split. Speaking to Charlotte Dawson on her Naughty Corner podcast, 34 year old Helen explained that she did “love” her ex-fiancé, but added that they “don’t like each other” anymore.

“I still love him very much, I care about him deeply, but we don’t like each other,” she said. “We don’t like each other at all, we don’t get on. I do know that Scott – he’d never admit it – cares about me too and he does love me.” She added: The last time I saw him, I thought it was quite funny, I was taking the p*** out of him because he had a bucket hat on. I think he was trying not to laugh.” The news comes after the mum-of-three spoke to OK! about her relationship with Scott back in 2023 and revealed the reasons why they were remaining friends and were co-parenting their three children.

Meanwhile, earlier this year she also opened up to OK! about the split and explained how she viewed the separation as being more like a “divorce” than a break-up. “Without sounding dramatic, it can be emotionally traumatising going through something like that,” she said. “I don’t see it as a break-up, I see it as a divorce. We were together for 13 years and have three children. But instead of processing it all, I threw myself into work and shut off my emotions. I just went into survival mode.” Two years on from the split, the soap star added that things between her and Scott are happier and healthier than they’ve ever been and they are able to make sure their children enjoy the benefits of having “two happy homes”.

I don’t want to live with toxic feelings, I really want to get on with the father of my kids and he’s the same. “He stays with his mum and we’ve always been really close, so she’s a saving grace for me. I know when they’re with Scott they’re seeing their Nana Sally too.”Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
