Privacy Notice At just 29 years old, Georgia Harrison has had to endure more heartache than most. But as she proved when she won the latest series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside pro boxer Lani Daniels, she’s got fighting spirit by the bucketload. In 2020, she became a victim of revenge porn, when her Celebrity Big Brother star ex Stephen Bear secretly filmed them having sex and shared the video online. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison last March, but was released early in January this year. After bravely waiving her right to anonymity, Georgia – who has also starred on The Only Way Is Essex and Love Island – then filmed her experience for the powerful ITV documentary, Revenge Porn: Georgia Vs Bear. But she has faced other tragedies in life, including the loss of her childhood best friend Cenk Fahri to leukaemia in December 2021, and then ex-boyfriend Jake McLean in a car crash in July 2022. Now that she has come through the other side, and is feeling proud of everything she’s achieved, Georgia says she’s determined to “make a difference”…

Hi, Georgia! Huge congrats on winning Celebrity SAS… Thank you. Obviously, winning the process was brilliant, but it wasn’t until I watched the show that I realised just how proud I am of myself. It was one of the best moments of my life. Did you learn a lot about yourself during the show? I learnt how mentally strong I can be. It was such an emotional experience. I had to constantly overcome thoughts of wanting to quit, so it tested my mental strength and willpower. Watching back, I see how resilient I am. Now I feel like I can handle most situations that come at me in life. It really strips you of your ego, especially being interrogated. Did you have to face a lot of demons? Definitely. During one challenge I had to wear headphones and they play the opposite of meditation music, it’s meant to make your brain feel uneasy. When that was happening, I went back to times in my life that I still had to process. I was thinking a lot about my ex who passed away and my best friend who died, too. I had to allow myself to go to those dark places in order to feel better – to concentrate on the mental pain, which forced me to process a lot of emotions I hadn’t before. You also opened up about your revenge porn ordeal on the show. Was that difficult? It was a hard thing to talk about in such a close environment to three very manly men. But it’s something I’ve lived through and spoken about in the past. It’s shaped the last few years of my life, so it was a good place to not only open up about it, but also put it to bed a little.

What was the biggest challenge for you? I’ve been a fan of the show for years and thought “surely it’s not as bad as you see on screen” but it couldn’t be any more real. It’s actually harder. For example, the interrogations last 24 hours – but for TV, they’re condensed in to a 20-minute edit. But it was the cold that I struggled with most. I despise being cold and, at times, we were shivering for 20 hours. That breaks your morale. But on the flipside, when you hear stories of being on the frontline from the instructors, you feel inspired to become a better version of yourself. Is there anything you wish you’d done differently? I might have balanced a bit better on the pole during the first day [laughs]! But no, I’m really happy at how my journey played out. Truthfully, everything that’s happened to me in life equipped me with the strength to get through some of the situations. What was your motivation to keep going? My trainers, but also my family, especially my dad and grandad. The way they brought me up, I could hear their voices in my head saying, “C’mon, get your head down and get through this, Georgia!” I also wanted to make my siblings proud. Any lasting injuries? They’ve healed now, but I felt like I’d been hit by a bus for a long time [laughs]. My feet were in a terrible state and carrying the 15kg weight around was tough. I’m more of a yoga or running girl. I dreaded getting an injury. I didn’t want to go full throttle and then have to leave.

Did you make lasting friendships on the show? For sure, and it was amazing to watch them overcome their fears. There were some really empowering moments but hilarious ones, too. At times we’d be in fits of laughter thinking, “What are we doing with our lives?” Since the show, Bianca [Gascoigne] has become like a sister. I know we’ll always be close. Then, of course, Bobby [Norris], Marnie [Simpson] and Pete [Wicks]. We’ve all got a group chat. Have you been supporting Pete on Strictly? Absolutely. He’s smashing it and it’s so far out of his comfort zone but he’s throwing himself into it. I’m really proud of him. I doubt it’s an easy thing to do. We heard he joked Strictly is harder than Celebrity SAS! I can see what he means. Both kinds of training, I imagine, are very full on but dancing is something you need to be naturally good at. It would be a huge struggle for me – I’m not very co-ordinated.

The star has been campaigning for women

People have been showing you so much love on social media… I’ve had so many DMs, it’s lovely. It’s been a surreal experience because anything I’ve done until now has been predominantly watched by younger people. Now, I’m getting people come up to me who probably had no clue who I was before. And have you entered the world of dating again? I’m sort of seeing someone but it’s early days so I don’t want to say much. I’m seeing where it goes. How exciting! So what’s next for you? I’d love to concentrate on more documentaries. I’m in the process of making two – they haven’t been announced yet – but they’re very hard hitting and look at the porn industry and deep fakes. I love doing something that can help make a difference. And one day, I’d love to do I’m A Celeb. You’ve also been campaigning against violence towards women… I’ve been in talks with the Labour Party and spoke at The Rally Against Violence Towards Women and Girls. It’s been surreal to be welcomed into such an important environment, but they really care about my voice.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
