Privacy NoticeStrictly Come Dancing is the show everyone is talking about at the minute – but for reality TV star Gemma Collins, she’d never sign up to the show. The 43 year old – who originally shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex – has appeared on Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother, but Strictly is the one show she’s steering well clear of. Admitting the reason is down to the controversy surround the BBC show, Gemma told The Sun: “No. I don’t fancy it. I saw all the stuff [about the scandal]. I don’t know what it is about the show that people fall over backwards about.” The star continued her blunt response: “I wouldn’t want to be embroiled in all of that, it’s put me right off.”

It’s no secret that many celebs see Strictly as one of the ultimate shows to join, but Gemma it appears doesn’t see it that way. The GC continued: “I don’t fall over myself to do anything, never have and never will. If you live your life dreaming of getting onto Strictly you need to go out and get into nature.” Gemma’s response comes after her former TOWIE co-star Pete Wicks was announced as a contestant on this year’s Strictly. The 36 year old was the seventh celebrity contestant confirmed for the brand new series of the BBC show set to return next month (September).

Speaking about joining the line-up Pete revealed: “Dancing live in front of the nation every Saturday? Absolutely terrifying. But anyone who knows me knows I love a challenge and trying new things, so I’m genuinely looking forward to getting stuck in.” The news was revealed on Kiss FM Breakfast Show alongside as well as Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri, who has joined the line-up. Tasha said: “”Pinch me, I can’t believe I’m going to be on Strictly Come Dancing! I’ve been watching the show since I was little – it’s a firm Ghouri family favourite – so this is a total dream come true. I know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience and I hope to represent and make everyone proud out on that dancefloor.” The first five contestants, JB Gill, Wynne Evans, Toyah Willcox, Chris McCausland and Dr Punam Krishan were confirmed earlier this week.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
