Privacy NoticeCelebrity chef Matt Tebbutt, known for his stints on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and Food Unwrapped, had a bit of an ‘oops’ moment when he let slip a shocking detail on how he met his wife, Lisa. The couple tied the knot back in the 90s, once ran a pub together that blossomed into an AA-rated restaurant. They’ve since traded the hustle and bustle for a serene life in their gorgeous Welsh country home, raising two kids, Henry and Jessie. Their love story, however, kicked off on an unconventional note, as Matt made the shocking admission that he had dated Lisa’s sister before her! Chatting on the Grilled by The Staff Canteen podcast with Anna Haugh last year, Matt revealed that they’ve been hitched for 23 years [at the time] and they’re gearing up to celebrate their silver 25th anniversary next month.

“Well done me, go me,” he cheekily celebrated in a post shared by Lisa Tebbutt (@lisa_tebbutt). Matt candidly admitted, “Sometimes it’s touch and go let’s be honest, but so far we’re still here,” reports the Express. But the real gasp-worthy moment came when he revealed how they met: “I used to go out with her sister – next [question]! Fun fact.” Anna couldn’t hide her surprise: “How did I not know that? That is so you, well done you,” she exclaimed, as Matt laughed it off with a “Moving on.”

Anna praised the couple’s dynamic, saying, “I love Lisa and I think the two of you together are brilliant because she’s just as mischievous, if not more, than you”. On the podcast, Matt, who has become a household name, divulged his interest in a plant-based lifestyle, calling himself ‘veggie curious’, but he admitted that he couldn’t give up dairy and fully commit to veganism. “I could easily go vegetarian I think, not easily because I’d miss wobbly pork bellies and Chinese hot pots and things like that,” he mentioned. He added, “I’m eating more and more vegetarian food. I’d love to be in a place where you could just eat great quality meat.” Celerity Chef Matt also shared how opting for veggie options can often make him feel better, saying, “Very often I’ll go for veggie food because you just feel a lot better later on that day.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
