Privacy NoticeLauryn Goodman has addressed claims that she doesn’t work after the influencer, 33, lost her court battle over child maintenance with footballer Kyle Walker, the father of her two children. Lauryn – who is taking part in the new series of Celebs Go Dating – faced court defeat last month after her child support demands were denied by a judge. In the scathing judgement, which turned down Lauryn’s requests for a new £70,000 car every four years and a football pitch for her kids in her garden, the judge accused Lauryn of “not planning to move to any employed work but would wish to develop her life as ‘a celebrity'”.

Speaking to OK! in an exclusive interview about her time on Celebs Go Dating, Lauryn spoke about the court judgement and hit back at claims that she didn’t work. “One of the things people would say is, ‘you could get a job.’ I do have a job. I work. I’m posting that I’m at work and people say, ‘Get a job.’ I’m filming today,” she said. “I work so that I, too, can contribute to my children because I want to have that feeling that I’ve done that for my children.” Lauryn, who shares Kairo, 3, and Kinara, 1, with footballer Kyle, added: “I’m their sole carer and I want to be able to provide things for them – I took Kairo to the Maldives while I was pregnant with Kinara, and that was nothing to do with their father. “They’re my drive and they’ve given me the strength to go at this. I want to create a future for me and the children so we’re not controlled by anything.”

The influencer joins the likes of Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, musician Jamelia, Married At First Sight UK’s Ella Morgan and Gogglebox’s Stephen Webb in the star-studded line-up for Celebs Go Dating as well as Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps and Love Island’s Chris Taylor. Speaking about dating on the show, Lauryn said: “I’ve started to get my confidence back. I’ve been a shell of myself recently and there’s been so much negativity aimed at me, it’s hard to think of yourself in a positive light. “Through this, I’ve turned my light back on for dating and people are starting to reach out and show interest in me so that’s been nice.” Celebs Go Dating premieres Monday 19 August at 9pm on E4.
