Privacy NoticeWith Strictly Come Dancing preparing to return in the coming weeks, the show’s roster of professional dancers have been hard at work preparing. But as temperatures soared on Monday, 12 August, which was the UK’s hottest day of the year so far, the dancers were certainly feeling the heat. Karen Hauer, Nikita Kuzmin, Kai Widdrington, Johannes Radebe, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal and Lauren Oakley were amongst the professionals snapped outside rehearsals working up a sweat. Things got so hot and heavy inside that four large air conditioning units were brought in as emergency measures to cool down the dancers. Taking to Instagram later in the day, Karen shared to her Stories a sweating gif with the caption: “Leaving rehearsals like… so darn hot!” Lauren was also spotted grabbing a spot in the shade outside of rehearsals as she enjoyed a hot drink before picking up some lunch from a crew member, while Luba sported a black sports bra and matching leggings for the scorching day and Jowita added a silk bandana over her locks. Nikita combatted the heat by pushing his blonde locks back with a pair of sunglasses, while Kai and Johannes were also seen stepping out for some air.

The professionals returned to rehearsals last month, and it seems there will be some new training in place this year as the show is reportedly upping its game when it comes to the training of its professional dancers. The BBC is said to be increasing its duty of care towards contestants following complaints from three celebs about alleged misconduct during their time on the dance floor. It’s been reported that BBC bosses have now “demanded all professional dancers to undergo anti-bullying training” ahead of this year’s show, which will mark the 20th anniversary of Strictly, amidst an ongoing investigation into misconduct. Insiders close to the show have revealed a new clause in the pro dancers’ contracts, stating they must complete this training if they wish to continue competing.

These new rules are being taken “very seriously indeed”, according to sources. In recent weeks, several of Strictly’s favourite pros were let go following complaints made by their former dance partners. The BBC has now revealed the full list of celebrities set to take on the dancefloor, with the line-up consisting of DIY SOS host Nick Knowles, football commentator Paul Merson, Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri, England hockey player Sam Quek MBE, Olympic swimmer Tom Dean, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward, Pete Wicks, JB Gill, Toyah Willcox, This Morning’s Dr Punam Krishan, and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
