Privacy Notice Rylan Clark made a rare confession about his mum Linda while co-hosting ITV’s daytime show This Morning. On Tuesday (August 13), Rylan was presenting the programme with Josie Gibson, when they got chatting to a group of Olympic athletes. One had been trained by his very own mum leading Rylan to make a candid comment about Linda’s parenting style. He confessed that if his own mother had trained him for Olympic glory it would have been a disaster, joking he would have knocked over the Olympic cauldron in a major blunder. He questioned: “How is that [being trained by a parent]? Because I could not think of anything worse than my mum coaching me to try and win an Olympic medal. Could you imagine Linda?!” “I mean, I’d probably knock the cauldron over. The torch would go out. It would be terrible. But yours know what they’re talking about, they’re incredible at the sport themselves,” reports the Mirror.

Linda, who appears on Celebrity Gogglebox with her famous son, had her son “praying” for her as she battled various health issues, including chronic illness Crohn’s disease, where parts of the digestive system become inflamed. Last year she also suffered a terrifying fall on holiday and was rushed to hospital for an emergency procedure. Now the 71 year old is thankfully reported to be “recovering” from her injuries. Rylan has shared details of his mum Linda’s accident while on holiday in 2023.

The TV star explained: “So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she’s had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here,” adding, “She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated.” Rylan ended by saying: “My priority at the moment is my mum.
