Privacy NoticeShameless star Sammi Hanratty has announced she’s going to become a mum! The actress announced the happy news with a sweet video on social media. Sammi recorded herself taking a pregnancy test in her bathroom and burst into tears when the result was revealed to be negative. The clip then cut to a little while later when Sammi took another test and couldn’t believe it when it came back positive and kept repeating “no way!” in disbelief. The video then cut to an ultrasound where Sammi confirmed she’s expecting her first baby. Sammi posted the clip along with the caption: “Still in shock and its been 4 months! “I will be sharing more from my journey because it has been a wild one! Come follow this new adventure.”

Sammi’s Yellowjackets co-star Nuha Jes Izman commented: “The most beautiful, amazing, best mama cannot wait to smush you and the baby’s face (and Christian too haha)”. Another actress Julia Rae added: “Oh my goodness!!! So exciting! Congratulations, Sammi!!! That is one lucky baby” with plenty of love heart emojis. Stargirl actress Anjelika Washington, penned: “Omg congrats love!!! I know you’ve been praying for this” Soooooo excited for you!!!”.
Sammi confirmed her pregnancy with an ultrasound
Sammi is known for her career as an actress having bagged her first role in 2006. She then went on to star in the likes of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, 2 Broke Girls. One of her biggest roles was in the US version of Shameless where she played Kassidi Gallagher from 2017 to 2018. She then went on to appear in Yellowjackets where she plays teenage Misty Quigley, the younger version of Christina Ricci’s character. Her husband is Suicide Squad star Christian DeAnda, they married in November of 2023 after three years of dating in front of 140 guests, including several of her Yellowjackets co-stars, at Terra Mia Vineyards in Paso Robles, California. The pair initially met on Bumble during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.

Sammi told The Knot: “’I wasn’t sure I wanted to have my wedding at a vineyard, but the moment I saw the property, I knew it was the place. I had three other venues to go view and I cancelled them immediately.” Samantha and Christian had one request of their guests at the time.
