Privacy Notice Former Coronation Street favourite Helen Flanagan was visibly emotional on ITV’s Loose Women as she opened up about her personal struggles and the end of her relationship with footballer Scott Sinclair. The 34 year old actress, who first graced the cobbles at just nine years old, joined Kaye Adams and fellow Corrie alums Sally Dynevor, Sue Cleaver, and Denise Welch to chat about her time on the show. Despite the nostalgia, Helen admitted she could barely recall her very first day on set. As the conversation shifted to her recent split from Scott Sinclair, Helen couldn’t hide her distress while discussing how the media coverage of their relationship affected her. Denise touched on mental health, saying: “I just know that you really struggled- could you just take us through because you had a breakdown, a real psychotic breakdown.”

An emotional Helen responded: “Gosh, I didn’t think I would get so emotional today!” Helen went on to explain that seeing certain headlines can be incredibly triggering for her. She revealed that her decision to speak out was partly due to her commitment to a six-month theatre tour, feeling the need to be open about her life, reports the Mirror. The mother of three also shared her past belief that she and Scott would be together forever.

Helen opened up about her past relationship with Scott Sinclair, revealing to Manchester Evening News: “I was with my ex Scott since I was 19 and he was like my world. I always thought we were going to be together, always. I bet he’ll be a better boyfriend to the next girl after me. I was perfect!” She also shared the little things she misses about being in a relationship, confessing: “The one thing I miss about being with my ex is not being able to leave every morning to go to the gym or out for a run. I live in the middle of nowhere and could go for nice runs or bike rides, and that’s what I really miss. Those little things.” Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
