Privacy Notice Celebrity MasterChef is back, and the new series featuring judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace has a surprise link to Love Island. Snoochie Shy, the TV and radio presenter who appeared in the first episode of the stressful cooking show’s 2024 season, is sister to Zachariah Noble, who appeared on Love Island in 2023. Zach paired with Molly Marsh on the dating series but they had a rocky journey both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes, and eventually split up seven months after the series ended. Snoochie, 32, meanwhile, is best known as a BBC Radio DJ and model, and she also appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2021. Her real name is Cheyenne Davide, but her grandmother called her Snoochie and the name stuck. Speaking to The Mirror, she explained: “My nan used to call me Snoochie, and it just stuck with me. I should have Googled it first, because in the Urban Dictionary it’s ‘a flaccid, emaciated carrot found in the refrigerator’ – but by Snoochie my nan meant ‘cute’. And Shy – my real name is Cheyenne. I am a little bit shy as well. I’m quite loud on my Insta and in work.” Sign up to OK’s TV newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free

Space NK’s new £24 ‘skin scent’ has gone viral as beauty fans say it ‘gets them so many compliments’

Snoochie decided to put on the MasterChef apron and put her cooking skills to the test because she is a fan of the show. “I mean it’s an absolutely iconic show and I’ve always watched it! I entered so I can try to learn new tips and tricks in the hopes it would get me cheffin’ it up in the kitchen more without feeling like I’d poison my mates!” She says she hasn’t poisoned anyone in her family with her cooking, but “I’m more known to be the cocktail maker” than the chef. While her favourite thing to eat is fried chicken, she says that her favourite thing to cook is “a Thai red prawn curry. I’ve had no complaints and my mates have asked me to make it for them again – although my presentation is always abysmal. So my hope was to learn a thing or too regarding that. I’ve always said it’s about the flavour – who cares what it looks like!”

Unfortunately, John and Gregg did care what her food looked and tasted like, and following a disaster in the MasterChef kitchen, Snoochie became the first celebrity to be axed from the cooking competition on Tuesday 13 August. Her fellow competitors include Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps, presenter and DJ Edith Bowman, reality star Charlotte Crosby, presenter Craig Doyle, Christine McGuinness, actor Jake Quickenden, Sugababe Mutya Buena and dancer Vito Coppola. They are all aiming to be crowned Celebrity MasterChef – a title that has previously been won by celebrities including Nadia Sawalha, Lisa Faulkner, Ade Edmonson and Angelica Bell.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
