Privacy NoticeGogglebox star Stephen Webb has confessed that he ‘just stopped working’ on his marriage to Daniel Lustig, leading to their separation after six years of wedded bliss. The 53 year old TV personality finalised his divorce from Daniel, 43, earlier this year and is now set to appear on Celebs Go Dating. Alongside the likes of Corrie’s Helen Flanagan and Married at First Sight bride Ella Morgan, Stephen has put himself in the capable hands of dating gurus Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson to find him his new Mr Right. In a candid admission following their split, Stephen revealed that they both just ‘switched off’ from their relationship six years after saying ‘I do’, and he will discuss it further on the E4 reality show. Speaking to The Sun, he said: “We touch on it in the series. We both kind of switched off and stopped working at it.

“The longer you leave it, the more it deteriorates to a point where there’s no going back. “I’m a firm believer in that life is about change and now I’m just looking forward to the next chapter of my life. The TV star, who recently shared why he left the Channel 4 series that catapulted him to fame, acknowledged that he and Daniel had an ‘amazing time’ during their 11 years together, but he’s ‘looking forward’ to embarking on a new journey.

In June, Daniel spoke to OK! what led to the split, and how they made the difficult decision to announce it to the public. “Neither one of us wanted to be unhappy and when we called time on it, yes it was very upsetting because when you get married and walk down the aisle you don’t think that’s ever going to happen, you can’t think that, you have to think positively,” he shared. The couple decided to separate last year and announced it in April, six years after trying the knot at the majestic Chateau de Lisse in Lot-et-Garonne, France. There was nothing “scandalous” behind the decision, Daniel said, but they realised they were better and happier as “friends with no benefits”. “We got to the point where we’d talked about the break-up, about why we were breaking up, how we were going to go through it, and how we were both feeling. “When we both felt in a stable place and a bit more confident, and also there for each other, that’s when we put it out.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
