Some fans called the pair ‘insensitive’ after they posted an incredibly loved-up snap days after the shocking news of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s split. The pair posted a romantic image of themselves by the sea with Luke lifting Lucie into the air along with the caption that reads “Forever.”. However, one comment that has over 100,000 likes reads: “I love you guys but don’t you think that sounds a bit petty and insensitive right now?”. Another declared “that’s what I thought”.

However lots of fans came to their defence and added: “How is this a dig at their love island friends? Molly and Tommy breaking up has nothing to do with them. I hope these two continue sharing their happiness with the world.”. Another wrote: “Beautiful photo of a beautiful couple. And correct me if I’m wrong, how is this photo having any bearing on the sad news about Tommy and Molly. If they’d never posted loved up photos, I’d get it, but they’re always putting up loving photos.” Lucie appeared in season 5 of Love Island alongside Tommy where she picked him for a date. Molly-Mae then joined the show and coupled up with Tommy.

Lucie and Luke have been engaged since December 2021 with fans eagerly waiting for news of their wedding. On their recent post one fan even penned: “Awwh I first thought this was a wedding pic! Gorgeous couple”. Luke popped the question whilst the pair were on holiday in Finland, Luke shared the happy news on his Instagram page, he wrote in the caption: “Mrs Mabbott to be” followed by a ring and heart emoji. He added: “The northern lights made an appearance for the perfect moment to pop the question. A night we will never forget..” Fans of Love Island were shocked during the week when Tommy and Molly-Mae announced they have split after their romantic engagement last year.

Molly-Mae announced the news on Wednesday 14 August. She said: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this,” Molly-Mae, 25, wrote to her 7.9 million followers. “After five years together I never thought our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end. “I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. “I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks, please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time. I’ll be back when it feels right.
