Privacy Notice Love is Blind UK is now streaming its final two episodes on Netflix, and the Freddie Powell and Catherine Richards saga has taken a monumental turn. Across the reality TV series, which is hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, the engaged couple managed to mostly avoid any serious drama, barring those instances where Cat flirted with Ollie Sutherland and Freddie confessed to cheating on an ex before unsubtly admiring one of the single girls on a night out – later mentioning his preference for a prenup agreement too. When it came down to the crunch though, Cat was left pretty red-faced when her romantic sentiments were dashed by her other half down the aisle. “I cannot wait to start my life with you and hold your hand every step of the way,” she said, declaring her love for Freddie, who went on to mention their “deep bond” and a sense of “fate” at work although he didn’t believe the “timing” was right for them to take this major step forward.

Freddie promised his answer wasn’t “a rejection of the love we share”, but Cat told the cameras that she felt “really unwanted” following his admission. Apparently, Freddie is still looking to “pursue a life together” yet his TV fiancée informed him that “it’s just going to take a lot for me to bounce back”. She later summed up the situation; “I said yes because I found the person I want to spend my life with. It’s nice to hear he still wants to be with me, but actions speak louder than words right now. I love him, but I don’t know.”

Fred made a very good decision, I’m so happy for him” and “That’s alright Freddie!!!! You made the right choice!!!!!” read two of the celebratory responses. Another handful of tweets commended the funeral director’s decision. They included: “Freddie!? What a gentleman! Stood his ground and then still went and spoke to all involved to clarify his decision. What a gentleman”, “I WAS TOOO HAPPY TO SEE FREDDIE NOT MARRY CATHERINE”, “Freddie saying no to Catherine made my day”, “catherine doesn’t deserve freddie in the slightest” and “I’m so happy Freddie said no”. Can they make it work away from the cameras?
