On the Wednesday (21 August 2024) episode of the ITV show, there was a funny turn of events when Celebrity MasterChef’s John Torode brought out a scrumptious looking cheesecake for presenters Rochelle Humes and Joel to taste. The Masked Singer celeb, clearly too keen for dessert, tried to sneak a bite but somehow managed to drop it from his mouth back onto the plate. Rochelle was shocked and couldn’t help but say: “Oh my gosh! What a way to ruin it.” In an embarrassed flurry, Joel awkwardly admitted: “I’m so sorry! That is unbelievable.”

Online reactions to Joel’s cheeky slip-up were instant and less than forgiving, dragging him over the coals for his lacklustre table manners. Tweets came thick and fast with one person posting: “He just dropped that food back on that cheesecake??” Others were more blunt, with tweets like: “Oh f***ing hell! Joel is absolutely disgusting,” and another capped off the public sentiment with a vomit emoji, simply commenting: “Gross.”

Another user on Twitter expressed relief at dodging Joel’s dubious etiquette during the TV segment, while another penned: “My 5-year-old grandson has better eating manners than Joel.” Meanwhile, another voiced their opinion, as they penned: “Joel obviously didn’t want to share the cheesecake.” As Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take time off, two new presenters step up to steer the the ship, much like Susanna Reid and Laura Tobin who unveiled her own temporary sign-off from Good Morning Britain earlier this week. Laura broke the news as Kate Garraway shared her rather unexpected stance on the seemingly fleeting British summer as she chatted with Laura, stating: “I was trying to wear everything summery quickly before it has to go back in the suitcase under the bed.” Not missing a beat, the weather presenter served up some holiday truth revealed: “You know what Kate?
