The footballer told the publication: “I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down. I owe everyone an apology, especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.” He added: “I did nothing illegal. These were inappropriate messages between two consenting adults.” During the interview, Jermaine also shared the moment he had to tell his wife of 13 years, Ellie, what had happened, and revealed that she was “absolutely raging” and that he’d been banished from the marital bedroom.

“Ellie is absolutely raging. She’s human. When I see her now, she is just making sure the children are OK. It’s just about the children right now. It’s the school holidays and they’re trapped in the house because photographers are outside my house. They’re like, ‘What’s going on, Daddy? ‘. It’s tough. I’ve got to take responsibility and I’ve apologised to all of them,” he said. He added that discussing the scandal with his 16 year old and 11 year old had been particularly challenging. “They’re obviously of an age where they’re aware of social media and other bits and pieces. That’s been hard. I’ve let everyone down. Even my dog looked at me disappointed. It’s just hard at home for the kids right now,” he explained.Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
