Privacy NoticeThe Voice UK is returning to ITV1 with not one, not two, but three new coaches. American sensation LeAnn Rimes, known for 90s hit How Do I Live?, will take up one seat. And forming a duo in the UK’s first ever double chair is McFly band members Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher. The team will also be joined by even more stars as Perrie Edwards, Hannah Waddingham and British singer songwriter Griff are signed up to be mentors to the coaches this series. This becomes the hit ITV show’s biggest celebrity signing. Perrie will help Tom and Danny, Griff will help LeAnn, Hannah will help Sir Tom Jones while Will.i.am will be helped by his own AI creation called Felicia.

“Perrie was actually really helpful because we were stuck,” Danny says about the Little Mix sensation joining. “We had a team of like, you know, like all the team at this stage are going to be amazing, it very hard to make the choice. She brought a complete fresh ear on everything and knowledge and she has an unbelievable voice. She knows what’s good and we needed that backup and acknowledgement to make a decision. There were a few moments when we didn’t expect them to go through or people weren’t as good. A lot of unexpected moments and we’d go ‘Perrie, are you sure?” The boyband members will act as one and agree on which singers they want to coach, they were delighted to have Perrie on board. Tom said: “Going into that – you start planning. I want this one. But when you get in the room, they all step up. It was really tough.” British singer and actress Hannah has teamed up with Sir Tom Jones to coach the contestants. Sir Tom Jones will take his place back in the red chair and he opened up on what it was like having Hannah with him. “She was tremendous. I mean, that she’s an Amazon, you know, she was great. I’ve seen her, I know what she is, a great singer. Just to have her there was great. She might take over, she’s good! She would make a great coach.”

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.Am will also be back for his thirteenth series and is committed to winning after his victory last year with Jen & Liv. As for the new coaches, Will quite enjoys the shake-up. “The new dynamic, it’s refreshing,” he says. “It’s egoless, joyful, there’s camaraderie, passion and collaboration.” Sign up to OK!’s daily newsletter to get updates sent to your inbox for free
