Privacy NoticeThe Chase is set for a major twist as it celebrates its milestone anniversary with an upcoming episode that’s sure to surprise viewers. In a unique twist, the latest instalment of the beloved quiz show will feature four contestants who share names with the Chasers, and they’ll face not just one, but two quiz masters in an exciting format change. A sneak peek from the episode airing on Monday, September 2 was revealed in a trailer where host Bradley Walsh announces: “These four people have never met before but by working together as a team they have the chance to win thousands of pounds! Today, two things are standing in their way. Two Chasers. The Chase double trouble is on.” The hopefuls, named Darragh, Jenny, Anne, and Paul, are seen eagerly anticipating which two quiz legends they’ll challenge. The teaser, shared on The Chase’s official Instagram page today, has fans buzzing with anticipation, prompting a flurry of excited comments. One excited viewer wrote: “Love how the contestants’ names are Chaser names… Well played everyone,” reports the Mirror. Another is keenly awaiting the episode, saying: “Can’t wait to watch, the two chasers must be Shaun and Mark, the first two chasers.” A third fan added, “Can’t wait for this then,” while another chimed in: “I bet Mark and Shaun are the Chasers.”

Jenny Ryan arrived in series nine, and the newest Chase Darragh Ennis stepped into the quiz arena in series 13. The team are all known for their nicknames, such as The Beast for Mark, the Dark Destroyer for Shaun and The Vixen for Jenny, but some of the Chasers had different nicknames before they settled on their well-known ones. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Jenny revealed her original nickname was “too racy”. She quipped: “I was originally called ‘The Cougar’ which – on several grounds – I objected to. Brad [host Bradley Walsh] came up with ‘The Vixen’ because in every audition I wore my hair with a ponytail at the side and he thought it looked like a fox’s brush. That worked for me.” Anne, better known as The Governess, meanwhile, was originally meant to be The Headmistress. She shared: “During rehearsals, Brad started referring to me as ‘The Governess’. I told the producers straight away I’d rather be called that. I thought it was more kinky.”Story SavedYou can find this story in  My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.Follow OK!
